Clove Polyps are a soft coral found all over the tropical waters of the Pacific, including Fiji, Tonga, Solomon Islands and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Clove polyps do not form a skeleton like a pipe organ coral, but they do form a connected network of stolons from which their polyps extend.
Clove polyps are photosynthetic and will receive the vast majority of their nutrition from the lighting provided. Anything in the 50-100 PAR range is acceptable, and they can tolerate higher intensities if gradually acclimated. They can be supplemented with the cloudy supernate from thawing meaty food such as mysis or krill, or zooplankton.
